Singer/songwriter Stephanie Anderson is quickly gaining attention and recognition throughout the music industry and community. Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia and just twenty years old, Stephanie is already a seasoned composer, musician and performer having started writing, recording and performing her original songs from the tender age of twelve years. No stranger to the stage, Stephanie won the title of 2007 “Eastern Shore Idol”, was a semi-finalist at the 2007 Alexander Keith’s Talent Contest and was one of two amateur musicians to perform at the 5th, 6th and 7th Maritime Beatle’s Events in Halifax. Stephanie has also had the opportunity to perform with Jim Henman, Robbie MacNeil and Mike Trask. Stephanie is also a member of Music Nova Scotia.
Stephanie is currently actively promoting her six-song EP entitled Parables, which was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Dennis Field at Denmark Productions. She has also had the opportunity to record a two-song demo at The Sonic Temple with the audio engineering students at the Centre for Arts and Technology. All works on the album and demo are Stephanie’s original pieces and feature her mature voice and unique style.
Stephanie also donates her time and talent to various organizations and events such as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Relay for Life and Hope for Wildlife and will continue to support these and other meaningful causes. Additionally, she was featured on 2011’s Halifax Plugged-In 11 compilation CD, which was put on by Dennis Field of Denmark Productions. With radio play on The Most Maple Morning (CKDU) and Q104, her audience is quickly growing.
Stephanie has been teaching guitar and voice at the Ivy School of Music for a year and a half now, and is attending the Music Arts program at NSCC in September, 2014. Having performed in numerous local venues over the years, this spring and summer, Stephanie plans to actively promote her music and talent by performing more often in local venues and participating in amateur talent contests.
“Stephanie Anderson has a style that is unique and very mature for her age. Her voice has the ability to keep you captivated and enthralled in her music. From the first note to the last, she will take you on a musical journey that you can relate to.” Dennis G. Field, Denmark Productions
